Timeless Keepsakes: Capturing Personalized Family Ornaments with Heart
Some family treasures are too precious to keep to ourselves. This project was about preserving an irreplaceable heirloom—a grandmother’s handmade Christmas ornaments, lovingly crafted over decades. Her family wanted to honor her artistry and share the collection with future generations, so they commissioned a photo book to capture the whimsy, craftsmanship, and stories behind each ornament.
I photographed each piece from multiple angles, documenting every intricate detail. Using her handwritten list of ornament names as page titles, I designed a layout that felt as personal and nostalgic as the ornaments. After editing the photos and handwriting elements, I prepared the final book for print and digital distribution, creating a keepsake as timeless as the ornaments it showcases.
